Vertebrae Table

The initial appearance of this table is no doubt intriguing.  The wide stance of the structure provides a confident foundation in its connection with the floor, while the seemingly delicate 58"x40" glass top connects at just four points.

This spine is comprised of nine identical U-shaped pieces cut from maple butcher block.  Every other piece is turned a half-rotation and then they are joined with ˝” steel threaded rod and hardware. The result is a unified undulating form that adds a sense of dynamism to the table structure.

Daylight is left between each U-shaped part to both mimic the form of a backbone, as well as, reduce the visual weight of the overall piece.  This also allows the opportunity to leave the connections exposed, a common theme through much of my work.

This table is made to order and the type of wood used can be customized to a certain extent. Pricing will vary based on customized specifications.  Please give us a call to inquire about pricing or with any other questions @ 864.232.4423.
