Our History

2017 marks our 100th year in business. Over the years we have evolved from a lumber brokerage firm to a full service CNC machine shop. Following is a brief summary of our history:

1917      League opened it’s doors as a wholesale lumber brokerage.

1920’s  Produced plywood shipping crates and wooden shipping pallets.

1930’s  Began manufacturing wooden textile machinery replacement parts.

1940’s  During WWII we contracted with the US Navy, supplying car loads of mop handles. Immediately following the war, we returned to fabricating textile machine parts.

1950’s  Invested in industrial machinery to concentrate on high volume production.

1960’s  Began machining plastics for the textile industry.

1970’s  Focused on machining of plastics in non-textile related application like food processing, agriculture, mining, canning, bottling.

1980’s  Invested in CNC technology and shifted focus to close tolerance machining services.

1990’s  Expanded CNC department and targeted large run volumes of engineered plastic products for the marine industry.

2000’s  Launched Quick-Crate North America division with focus on plywood packaging for the aerospace, defense and automotive industries.

2012     Due to growth in the Quick-Crate division, purchased and renovated former Dan River Mill (Wunda Weave) and automated panel processing work cells.

2016     Installed a large solar grid to power our 130,000 sf factory.

2017     Celebrated our 100 year anniversary.
